TIES – Traditions and Intangible European Stories

Students Without A Language Section (SWALS) Project 2024-25 | Language 1 Croatian, German, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese & Spanish. The TIES project brings together Secondary 1 and 2 pupils from diverse linguistic backgrounds to explore and celebrate Europe’s rich oral traditions! Through stories, songs, and sayings, students connect with their cultural roots while fostering inclusivity and understanding within our Â鶹¹ÙÍø community.

Unlike written records, oral traditions act as living history, passed down through generations to preserve language, identity, and shared experiences.

This project is more than just a language activity—it’s a celebration of storytelling’s power to unite people, reinforcing empathy, diversity, and human connection in an increasingly globalized world.

SWALS are pupils whose mother tongue/dominant language is an official language of an EU Member State (except for Irish and Maltese) but for whom no language section in their mother tongue (L1) exists in the school.
